I remember from my childhood in India that the only gifts you would give to young folks were of the educational variety.  I am actually still a big proponent of that idea, and as a result I love to give and receive magazine subscriptions. (Granted, not all magazines are educational ;)). However, as a gift, it really is the gift that keeps on giving… and the recipient remembers you every time the magzine arrives in the mail.

One of my favorite mags is Wired, and right now Amazon has a great sale running it for only $5 for 1 year subscription!!! That is about what it costs for a Venti Caramel Macchiato at Starbucks these days… (and the cost of just 1 issue at the newsstand).
